Tourtiere
 
Ingredients
  • 1½ lb ground pork
  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¾ t cinnamon
  • ¾ t cloves
  • ½ t allspice
  • 1 c water
  • 3 medium potatoes, cooked and mashed
Instructions
  1. Combine pork, beef, onion and garlic in large heated oiled skillet and cook stirring often til meats lose their pink colour
  2. Add spices,water and cook, covered for 20 min; uncover and simmer 10 min more
  3. Remove from heat and stir in mashed potatoes, cool.
  4. Bake in oven 425 for 15 min and the 350 for 25 min or longer til hot and golden brown
  5. Freezes well before baking
