Asian -flavored swiss chard
Swiss chard is an excellent source of beta carotene, which is known to help in the fight against cancer. Remember: the darker green a vegetable is, the healthier for you it is. This vegetable is quite versatile as well as good for you: its ivory stalks can be cooked like asparagus and the dark leaves can be steamed or stir-fried. Or use the stalks and leaves together.
Ingredients
- l Ib Swiss chard leaves, coarsely chopped 4 tsp liquid honey
- 2 tsp rice wine vinegar 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp low-sodium soy sauce 1 tsp minced garlic
- ½ tsp minced ginger root
- GARNISH
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray and set over medium-high heat, cook Swiss chard for 3 to 4 minutes or until wilted
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl mix remaining ingredients, except sesame seeds Add mixture to Swiss chard; cook for 1 minute Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds
