Tourtiere
Ingredients
- 1½ lb ground pork
- 1½ lb ground beef
- 1 large onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- ¾ t cinnamon
- ¾ t cloves
- ½ t allspice
- 1 c water
- 3 medium potatoes, cooked and mashed
Instructions
- Combine pork, beef, onion and garlic in large heated oiled skillet and cook stirring often til meats lose their pink colour
- Add spices,water and cook, covered for 20 min; uncover and simmer 10 min more
- Remove from heat and stir in mashed potatoes, cool.
- Bake in oven 425 for 15 min and the 350 for 25 min or longer til hot and golden brown
- Freezes well before baking
