Spicy Thai pork chops or steak

Ingredients
- 1 boneless grilling steak, such as rib-eye or strip loin, ½ in. (3.5 cm) thick
- 1 lime
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) fish sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) minced jalapeno
- 1 garlic clove, minced, or 1 tsp (5 mL) bottled chopped garlic
- 1 tsp (5 mL) granulated sugar
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
- ½ tsp (2 mL) freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Bring steak to room temperature. Oil grill and heat barbecue to medium-high. Squeeze about 1 tbsp (15 mL) of lime juice into a small bowl. Stir in fish sauce, jalapeno, garlic and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add onion.
- In another small bowl, stir oyster sauce with oil and pepper. Brush all over steak. Barbecue, uncovered, from 5 to 7 min per side for medium-rare. Brush often with any remaining oyster-sauce mixture.
- Remove steak to a cutting board and let stand 5 min. Then slice and drizzle with jalapeno sauce. Great with noodles or salad.
